Damn misery. Yesterday it was Thursday and I didn't even notice. I'm continuing to write the book and continuing to design TMS and the days go by fast. I stand at the computer every morning, here in Lignano Sabbiadoro, while the afternoons I dedicate to my son.
Excuse me, then, but we have a chat today, talking about live broadcasts via social media. It is a very open field, a field in which you could offer yourself as a producer of content on the move, receiving in exchange a worthy economic response.
The stupid way
For now we're all wrong. We are using the medium of live broadcasts on social media like a Ferrari driven in first. We are making those products with old languages, children of TV. Here are the two ways we press the start button:
BREAKING MODEL. Very often we push the start button of our live social media in front of particularly significant events or news of which we are fortunate enough to be able to participate. They come out without a title, without explanation, without graphics, without quality. In this category I can safely count all the direct news that we do from personal accounts and also some of the big Italian newspapers that, too often, open up live social media in crooked and flickering ways, only for the need to show that they are on the news.
BROADCASTING MODEL. Companies in the media and other markets generally offer live social media full of television languages, static situations or mere repetition of the TV signal on a different channel.
It's a giant crap.
The right way.
Live social media are formats that are greatly enriched by the techniques and tools of mobile content creation. Moreover it is a creative expression that has the chromosome of mobility in its raison d'être, since it reaches our mobile phones, since it reaches us while we are on the move. Here are some elements to fully exploit the potential of live social media:
WRITE IT. You have to prepare a real storyboard, a canvas to respect, even if the unexpected is always around the corner.
FIND A GUETST. A guest is very often a quality element. Now even with the native social apps, it can be brought into the live broadcast even remotely.
EYE TO THE CRISIS. A hater, a person who appears in your painting, a jammer. Prepare a contingency exit plan.
MOVE. The static nature of the program is its negation. Make a path that can be an element of the story you want to do.
BE REPETITIVE. Repeat the elements of your live often: who you are, where you are, what you are telling, who you are with.
THINK IT INFORMALLY. Mobile content creation is the culture that allows you to enter people's lives in completely different times and ways than those portrayed by cameras. Here, give us in and create by opening the live on intermediate moments of a story, an event, a company.
The TV emits the last gasps.
With these elements you will make a clean sweep of these television methods with which we use live social media, denying the mobile qualities that this medium undeniably has. The last rattles of TV and mass media are a duty that we can do without continuing to pay.
